Hyderabad: Political goons of the ruling TRS party allegedly assaulted an RTI activist on Tuesday for refusing to withdraw the PIL and RTI petitions filed by him against TRS city president Mynampally Hanumanth Rao. The activist approached the Alwal police station after the incident.

P.M Sai Prasad had earlier filed an RTI petition seeking details of the building permissions given to the Mynampally's wife M Vani at Golnaka in Old Alwal. The RTI reply revealed that the building did not have permission from GHMC.

Miffed at this, Mynampally is said to have been waiting for an opportunity to get back at Sai Prasad.
On Tuesday while Sai Prasad was standing near his house, Nakka Prabhakar, a close friend of Mynampally drove towards him in his car and started abusing him. Sai Prasad alleged that Prabhakar threatened to kill him if he did not withdraw the PIL and RTI petitions filed against Mynampally Hanumanth Rao.

When Sai Prasad refused to oblige, Prabhakar returned with 15 persons in cars and began to assault him. Sal Prasad alleged that the men pinned him to the ground and punched him in the face and kicked him. Sai Prasad then reached the Alwal Police station and lodged a complaint against them.
The Alwal police have registered a case under Sections 506, 341, and 323 and 34. Nakka Prabhakar, who had earlier contested on a TDP ticket from Medchal also registered a case against Sai Prasad alleging that Sai Prasad intercepted his vehicle and assaulted him.

Mynampally denied that his men attacked Sai Prasad.
