Chennai-based technology blogger Varun Krishnan’s Facebook account was reportedly disabled right after he posted an image of a cat.

He says he was chatting with some friends over Facebook Messenger and sent the image on to one of the friends. Thereafter, his account was automatically logged out and when he tried logging in, he was faced with a notification which said ‘Session Time Out.’

‘In a matter of seconds I was being logged out of the services on all my devices,’ posted Varun Krishnan. ‘I just realized that my Facebook profile with over 3000 friends and numerous photos and messages is no longer accessible. Friends told me that my profile was no longer visible,’ he added.

Facebook didn’t provide any explanation for this, however; they reinstated his account and apologized for the incident.

‘Our team found this was a mistake and have restored your account. We are sorry for the trouble this caused you,’ Facebook Security Communications told Varun Krishnan.
